Cityscape Qatar 2015 Transforming the Real Estate Sector in Qatar
Doha, Qatar: 6 May, 2015 – Alongside a large scale exhibition, Cityscape Qatar 2015 has announced an impressive three day programme for the 4th annual Qatar Real Estate Summit, on 11th to 13th May 2015 at Doha Exhibition Centre. The programme will feature riveting discussions, global case studies, key note speakers, and prominent sector updates to be presented by the industry’s leading experts in order to address key issues such as how to establish a strong and diverse market along with how to ensure transparency, profitability and growth for the real estate sector in Qatar.
Key projects being discussed on Day One of the three-day Qatar Real Estate Summit will include the New Doha Port, which is being managed by experts from AECOM, the industry leading global transportation and programme management support services provider. The New Doha Port is intended to better position Qatar to benefit from the expected regional growth in container and vehicle carrier traffic as well as general cargo traffic.
Steven Humphrey, Director at AECOM and speaker at Qatar Real Estate Summit, said: “The last 12 months has seen a dramatic increase in the level of construction activity in Qatar, primarily in the infrastructure sector. The time is now right for attention to turn towards the delivery of buildings and major mixed use developments in preparation for 2022 and the realization of the 2030 Qatar National Vision. Cityscape is the ideal platform for clients, consultants and contractors to interact and more importantly develop a shared understanding of the visions and aspirations for the future.”
Day Two will focus entirely on retail, continuing the ongoing dialogue around the rapid expansion of the sector. Qatar has recently witnessed the soft opening of Gulf Mall, located next to Ezdan Mall and across the expressway from Landmark Mall. Gulf Mall, the 160,000 square metre shopping centre featuring more than 200 stores, is the first of several shopping centres scheduled to open across the country in the next couple of years, including the Mall of Qatar, Doha Festival City, Doha Outlet Mall and North Gate Mall.
Cityscape Qatar 2015 will conclude with The Sector Series, closed-door roundtable sessions which are led by a well-respected industry expert and focus on a specific topic or sector, on Day Three. The Sector Series is broken down into four industries: Residential, Office, Tourism and Hospitality, and Social Infrastructure.
Deep Marwaha, Group Director on behalf of Cityscape Qatar, said: “Cityscape Qatar 2015 will bring together key industry leaders and companies from around the region and the globe to support the vision for real estate growth in Qatar to an international audience. During the three day event we will highlight iconic architecture, revolutionary developments and unparelled investment opportunities. Further, Cityscape Qatar has successfully built a reputation worldwide for being critical to ensuring development programmes and participants have the opportunity to hear from the most sought after industry speakers and leaders.”
Cityscape Qatar, now in its fourth year, is the only platform in the State of Qatar that focuses solely on the real estate sector, bringing together the major industry figures, including speakers such as consultants Edd Brookes, General Manager of DTZ, Qatar; Mark Proudley, Associate Director of DTZ and Head of Research DTZ, Qatar; along with Nick Witty; Director and Head of Real Estate Advisory of the Northern Gulf at Deloitte Middle East, Qatar, as they debate and engage in in-depth analysis and discussions around current trends.
Cityscape Qatar 2015 prioritises diverse projects and exploring potential opportunities that will aid in delivering the Qatar National Vision 2030.
